Guest Bio
Leoma Gilley served in Africa with Wycliffe Bible Translators and SIL International for over 30 years, twenty years in the Sudan. She has a Ph.D. in linguistics from the University of London. She facilitated the translation of the entire Bible for the Shilluk people, 3rd largest language community in the South Sudan. This Bible was dedicated in 2013.
In 2004 she had to pause her work in Africa to take care of her aging mother. She was going through a challenging time when this book was written. Her practice of lectio divina and conversations with God brought deep healing and assurance of the love of the Father.
Leoma retired from missions in 2017. She lives in Knoxville, Tennessee and continues to seek ways to serve God and others through her writing and daily activities.
