He is a proud father of two girls and has been married 31 years to his high school sweetheart. Kevin also served in the first Gulf War with the United State Marine Corp. He shares the way he stays positive as he is currently battling stage IV Bile Duct Cancer. He is currently writing a book about his life, which will be released in January 2023. Kevin was born in Seoul, South Korea into poverty. He was given up by his family to live in an orphanage. He was adopted at age five to the Bjerke’s in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He married his college sweetheart, Brenda, at age 19 and they have celebrated 31 years of marriage. He would serve 4 years in the United States Marine Corps. He began working at Ameriprise Financial, a Fortune 250 financial services company, 25 years ago where he held multiple positions. He is currently a Regional Vice President for RiverSource a subsidiary of Ameriprise.
Kevin and Brenda have two children and live in Golden Valley, Minnesota. He spends his time working full time at RiverSource; being physically active through various forms of exercise; raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society; being a big brother in the Big Brother program; writing a book; and is currently battling stage IV Bile Duct Cancer.
